Tecno takes centre stage at International Italian Design Day

3.2.2017
Vela, designed by Lievore Altherr Molina, has been chosen for the Percorso Compasso d’Oro (“(ADI) Golden Compass Pathway”), an exhibition of products that have received the prestigious award, destined to remain permanently in the Farnesina’s reception rooms, where the design will therefore join the existing and celebrated art collection.

Tecno has also accepted the invitation from the ADI (Italian Industrial Design Association) to install 6 Nomos tables in the former Sala Sartorio, a showcase for design that hosts the products of some of Italian design’s finest companies and will consistently offer delegations from all over the world a compelling image of the high quality of Italian industrial design.

Instituted this year, international Italian Design Day is promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, the Triennale di Milano, the ADI, the Fondazione Compasso d’Oro (“Golden Compass Foundation”), Milan Salone del Mobile and Italian Trade Agency: on 2 March in more than 100 locations around the world, 100 “Ambassadors” (designers, businesspeople, journalists, critics, communicators, educators) talked about a project marked by excellence with the aim of promoting Italian design culture.

Precisely to celebrate the launch of this great initiative, an undisputed first for the sector, an international press conference was held on 2 March at the Farnesina, with a contribution from Minister Angelino Alfano, with other Italian political figures, representatives of the promoting associations and institutions, international ambassadors in Italy, selected companies and journalists in attendance.
