European Parliament
In 1992 Tecno won the bid to furnish the new semicircular room at the European Parliament headquarters in Brussels.
The project saw the production of 750 stations for parliamentary delegates and the presidential stage, all made to measure.
On the basis of an architectonic design by Michel Bourquillon, Jean van Pottelsberghe de la Potterie and Guy Maes, Tecno developed the technical design and produced all of the items of furnishing, both for the seating and the journalist stations. For the document reading and consultation area, tables from the Nomos system, customised with added purpose-built accessories and storage, were used.
In 2006, the semicircular assembly room was extended with 113 additional stations, reproduced based on the original design from 1992 with the same finish: a painted steel structure, pear wood panels and a leather upholstered worktop.
